What Exactly Is Permanent Cosmetic Makeup?

Permanent cosmetic makeup is a state-of-the-art form of cosmetic tattooing called “micro-pigmentation.” Unlike tattoos, it is a very subtle enhancement of facial features that looks very natural. The specialized techniques used for permanent cosmetics are often referred to as “micro-pigmentation” or “micro-pigment implantation.” This cosmetic implantation technique deposits tiny individual implants of pigment into the dermal layer of the skin.

Each procedure is a process, which includes the initial consultation that includes medical screen, initial application of pigment, 7-10 days of healing, and if needed, one follow-up visit for adjusting the shape and color or density of the pigment.

Consultation & Appointment Policy

We will be glad to offer you a free over-the-phone or in-person consultation for a small fee. At this point, we will pre-screen you and decide the course of action with you. Every appointment is time-sensitive since it is a specialty service.

In order to provide each client with the ideal amount of time and relaxing environment for a procedure, we will block out 2-2.5 hours with a $200 deposit per procedure to secure an appointment. This deposit will be later applied toward the total fee that you may owe to the technician. However, if you have to cancel or reschedule your procedure with less than 48 hours’ notice, there is a $25 rescheduling fee to be paid before re-scheduling your next appointment. If you choose to reschedule your appointment, a minimum of 48-hour advance notice is mandatory, or the deposit becomes non-refundable.

One free touch-up on eyebrows and/or eyeliner procedure is offered and must be availed within 90 days of initial procedure if needed. However, no free touch up is offered for lips procedure. Only two re-schedules are permitted for procedure or touch-up appointments. Thank you in advance for your understanding. We look forward to working with you!

IS permanent makeup really permanent?

These are semi-permanent procedures, and color will fade over time and will require maintenance visits (once in two years or so). It’s a good thing that these make up procedures are not permanent forever because skin, styles, and trends change over the period of time. This allows one to redesign or modify these procedures after they fade.

Is It Painful?

Permanent cosmetics procedures are of skin invasive nature (as they are a form of cosmetic tattoo) so you may experience some discomfort. This may vary according to each individual’s pain threshold and the skills of the technician performing the service. A topical anesthetic is applied to numb the area and to significantly reduce discomfort. Jeet makes everyone extremely comfortable with her gentle touch and numbing techniques, and you will forget any discomfort after you see the beautiful results and looks.

Do I Need to Take Time Off From Work?

Sometimes, the procedure causes temporary swelling, redness, and bruising in rare cases. Most people do not need to take time from their employment. Some people have their touch-ups done during their lunch hour, while others prefer to take a day off. People who get eyeliner done may need to start work little late next day due to puffiness that occurs because of lying all night. This goes away in 1-2 hours after they wake up and start walking around.

Do I Have a Choice of Color Selection or Design?

The range of colors available are endless and can be custom tailored to fit every individual’s needs. Shape and positioning can be perfected. Color can also be placed in strokes or lines to emulate hair, such as micro-bladed eyebrow procedure.

Permanent makeup is the perfect solution for reshaping uneven lips and for making the lips appear larger and fuller. It has the added benefit of preventing lipstick from bleeding. It covers scars and can give the lips a very natural look or may be applied more heavily for a classic dramatic look.

How Long Does It Take to Get a Procedure Done?

During your first visit, there will be a 15-30 minutes consultation. On the day of procedure appointment, it may take 2-2.5 hours depending on the procedure you desire. A free follow up visit is offered within 90 days after the procedure if needed.

What Is the Possibility of an Infection?

Anytime the skin is open, even from a tiny scratch, infection is possible. The treated area must be kept clean, and the given ointment must be applied every 2-3 hours for the first seven days after the procedure. There are usually no major complications.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Sometimes, there is swelling of the treated area. This may last from 2-72 hours. There may be some tefness for 2-5 days. The color may appear darker than you would expect for the first 5-7 days. It then continues to lighten for 4-6 weeks after the procedure.

Are There Any Chances of Associated Allergies?

We may perform a patch test upon request with the chosen pigment to reduce the chance of an unexpected allergic reaction, but keep in mind that you can develop an allergy to anything at any time. Many doctors recommend that people who are allergic to cosmetics have these procedures done because they will replace cosmetic products that they are sensitive to.

Is It Safe?

Procedures are done under strict hygienic conditions and standards in line with those set by the Centers for Disease Control. All supplies are disposable and used one time only. Documented allergic reactions to permanent cosmetic procedures are extremely rare. Skin testing may be done by technicians, either routinely or upon request.

Is It Better to Get These Procedures Done at Doctor’s Office?

These procedures are art and not science. These procedures may cost more at a doctor’s office. Most MDs prefer to stay within their field of expertise, and they have someone (permanent makeup artist/technician) work for them from their office to perform these procedures on clients.

Do I Need to Take Any Precautions?

Keloids are a major concern. People with history of Keloids should not get permanent makeup procedures done. If you are planning on getting lips procedure done but have a history of fever blisters, cold sores, shingles, canker sores, or mouth ulcers, you must get a prescription of anti-viral medication prescribed by a doctor prior to the procedure. This helps eliminate a virus from occurring. Most concerns are addressed and discussed during the consultation and medical screen visit.

Do I Get a Free Follow-Up Touch-Up?

You will get what you ask for, all in one session. If after healing the color is not even or some adjustment in design is needed, a free touch-up is offered within 90 days after the procedure for eyebrows and eyeliner. No free touch-ups are offered for Lips procedures.
